Multiple Uses of knife part 5

64. opening letters.

It might seem quaint, but in its day, it was not really a tool called a card opener. It was basically an object like a knife. Using a penknife to open the handwritten letters touching your old friend is much easier than carrying an independent tool dedicated to opening letters.

65. The maintenance of a pipeline.

I have never been a smoker, but I know who the people are. It takes a little work to maintain a tube, and a pocket knife is a great tool for the job. A knife goes well in the milling of a pipe.
66. Create a fire.

There are few ways to start a knife with a pocket knife. One of the previous uses in the list is to make firewood. Once that's achieved, it's even easier to get something going. One way is to use a Ferro bar. Consider this trap because you need another element, but you can also use flint or quartz, which is fairly easy to find. Here's a good video that shows how to use the back of a pocket knife to start a fire.

67. The cut fishing net.

Fishing nets are a great way to catch some fish, but sometimes whales, dolphins and other creatures get trapped. Grab the knife and cut the animal free.
68. Realization of a spear.

There are some ways to make a spear with a pocket knife. One of them is actually to fix a knife on the end of a long stick. This is much less time, but it will put some wear on your knife. You can keep your knife and make a reliable four-pronged spear (hardened fire is even better). A pocket knife is an essential tool at work.

69. Keep the papers flying.

I do not like to say a knife can be used as a weight of glorified paper, but it can. Just the other day, I put the pocket knife on a napkin so it does not fly. You can also stick it on top of an empty plastic cup.
70. Cut the clothes of someone who gets stuck on an escalator.

Escalators can be deadly traps. One of the biggest causes of death of the escalator is the clothing getting trapped in the machine. As the clothing is wrapped in the machinery, you could be strangled. Having a knife handy can turn a very bad incident into another story to tell your friends.

71. Shotgunning a beer.

We at Knife Depot like to encourage responsible behavior (especially with the use of knives), but sometimes people just want to let go a little. Shotgunning in relation to beer is the act of rattling the whole thing from a hole in the side. There are many ways to do it, but one is to stab the side with a knife, open the tab, and rattle at a distance.

This guy shows a very good way to do it with a pocket knife and without making a mess (although some people enjoy the mess). Please drink responsibly.
72. cut pants in shorts.

Do you have a special lady in your life (or are you a special lady)? You can create some new cool shorts out of a pair of old pants with a pocket knife. Put the pants on a work table, align a ruler, and cut cleanly through the pants with the knife.

73. Gutting game.

I'm not a hunter, so please forgive me if I say something amateur; however, knives are useful in a number of hunting applications. First, the knife can be used to gut a deer or smaller creature.

74. Application of aspects of the game.

Another part of the dressing field is peeling game. A fixed blade with a bowel hook is most commonly used.
75. The game breakdown.

Then, of course, it's time to break the game. Cutting meat into more manageable pieces is important if you are thinking about eating the animal. Again, a large fixed blade is used normally, but a regular pocket knife can perform.

76. When the coconut water comes out.

Drinking that delicious coconut water is not an easy task, unless you have a pocket knife. If you are ever abandoned on a desert island, pocket knife that could save your life.

77. The ribbon cutting.

These days, you can grab tape or packing tape with one of those cutting devices. But if you are looking to save a few dollars, you can only get the tape without the additional cutter. As long as you have a pocket knife, you can trim the ribbon.
78. The breakdown of cardboard boxes.

After opening those boxes of Knife Depot, you have to recycle them. Large, hard-to-handle boxes will not fit in the recycling bin unless they are broken. A sharp and sharp pocket knife is more than enough to finish with a few boxes.

79. A drink is stirred.

Maybe the inventor of the knife (yes, UGG, I'm talking about you) did not expect it to be used to move the iced tea, but it can be used that way. Maybe Starbucks ran out of plastic stirring sticks and their coffee is sitting there all sad and unmixed. Give it a spin with your pocket knife and it's good to go. Just make sure that you clean it out quite thoroughly afterwards, or the sheet could develop a patina, depending on what moved.

Multiple uses of knives part 4

46. Coats hanging in a public bathroom.

I am reluctant to add to this one because it is a flagrant misuse of the razor. If you happen to get into a public toilet and there is no hook or something to hang your shirt on, you could use your knife to hang it.

The big risk is that you exert pressure on the knife in a way that it is not designed to. As long as it is for a short period of time and what you are hanging is extremely light, it should be fine. Here's a video to see what I'm talking about.

47. cuticle cutouts.

When it is cold or dry, the skin on the sides of nails always cracks and shells. Peeling cuticles are the worst. A pocket knife will get rid of them in a hurry.

48. Pruning plants.

Pruning helps shape and improve the health of plants. When a garden is being cultivated in the yard, a pocket knife can act as a file mower.

49. Peel potatoes.

Have you ever tried to make delicious bonfire potatoes but forgot the peeler at home? A razor cuts easily from the skin of a potato.

50. Break a window in case of emergency.

A good number of knives come equipped with a glass switch. This is the extra protrusion on the butt of the knife. A quick hit on a window and the glass of a car window breaks.

51. Teaching responsibility.

This is an interesting addition to this list. The above uses have all the physical things been the knife can achieve, but a pocket knife can also teach responsibility to younger people. Giving a knife to someone young instill a sense of duty. It is a sign of maturity.

52. Cutting clothes to access a wound.

Whether you are an EMT in response to a call or a good Samaritan helping someone who fell off a cliff, sometimes it is necessary to take off your clothes to access a wound.

53. Make a tourniquet.

In related lines, if the wound is exceptionally bad, you may have to apply a tourniquet until help arrives. Tear clothes in neat bandages is easy on television, but a little harder in real life. A pocket knife helps you to make bandages or tourniquets in a hurry.

54. The opening of a can.

Whether you're a tramp riding the rails or a caravan trying to make dinner, electric can openers are not always available. For those moments, there is the pocket knife. Some pocket knives, especially dedicated multi-tools, come with can openers, but a standard pocket knife will also do the trick. Just be careful not to spoil the blade.

55. The cutting of limbs or fingers in case of emergency.

We hope it never comes to this, but a pocket knife can be used to amputate limbs or fingers in life or death situations. This has happened more times than you think. Aron Ralston (the 127-hour boy) cut his arm with a Swiss Army knife. Sampson Parker also used a knife to cut the arm when it got stuck in a mechanical selector. Bruce Osiowy cut off has his hand after a rockpicker fell on him. John Hutt cut off his toes, when a tractor fell on top of him.

We could go on and on. It is unlikely to happen, but it is always good to be prepared.

56. Tightening screws.

A knife is not a screwdriver. It is used for cutting things (and a number of other things in this list), but many knives come equipped with two types of screwdrivers. Also, I would never forgive, but some people make use of a blade to tighten or loosen screws. Do it at your own risk.

57. Addition of a new hole in the belt.

We have all been in the position where we have lost * so much weight that the belt no longer remains. Instead of going to buy another high quality leather belt, a good pocket knife clip points should do the trick.

58. slices of bread sliced.

Have you ever been to a restaurant for a bagel only to find that they use those insignificant plastic knives? You can quickly and neatly cut a bagel in two with a pocket knife.

59. Dissemination of ingredients about food.

After having cut the bagel in two with the knife, it can be used to spread the cream cheese over the bagel. It is not limited to cream cheese either. You can spread butter on a roll. If you're in a jam, you can even spread jam on your toast.

60. Picking up screws.

It is possible to magnetize the blade of most knives. Just take a magnet and run to the tip of the sheet. This allows you to collect the screws in hard to reach places.

61. The felling of a tree.

While it is not the ideal use for a pocket knife, a folder can end up with a pretty thick tree. Like splitting the wood, this could cause damage to your knife and should actually only be done in survival situations when you need shelter.

62. Removal of stickers.

Stickers are awesome ... except when it's time to peel them. More often than not, removing some sticker results in some leftover pieces of waste that is almost impossible to get by hand. Depending on the surface, a pocket knife can help scrape some of the residue. You have to be careful with this, so do not spoil your sheet.

63. Popping balloons.

After a game or graduation, balloons abound. Pocket knives make quick work of these air (or helium) filled balloons. The great thing about using a pocket knife to blow up balloons is that you can do it quietly.
