Multiple uses of knives part 2

13. Performing an emergency tracheotomy.

Yes, you read it right. It is not uncommon for people to drown while eating. Usually, the Heimlich maneuver does the work, but when it is not, one of the only things you can do is cut a hole in your neck to blow air into your lungs.

The use of a pocket knife to do this in case of emergency is not unknown. We have written about three different cases of this happening. In 1990, two doctors performed a tracheotomy on a plane with a Swiss Army knife (back when the Swiss Army Knives were allowed on airplanes). In 2008, a man's throat became closed by swelling and a knife is used to cut an alternating breathing hole. Then, in 2013, a doctor uses a folding knife to save the life of a suffocating woman. For this reason alone, you should carry a pocket knife.

14. Zip cut ties.

The only way to eliminate most types of fastening bands is by cutting them. These inexpensive fasteners are mainly used with cables, and a knife will release whatever the fastening bands are held together.

15. Sharpening pencils.

If you're an artist, standard pencil sharpeners are not flexible enough to offer the kind of advice you need. That's where the pocket knife is very useful. In fact, there is a guy who makes the sharpened craft pencil, so if you become an expert in sharpening your pencil with the knife, you could start a business. Or you could be a hero to your niece who can not find a pencil sharpener.

16. cut of the meat.

We have all been to those restaurants that have this type of opaque meat knives what you want is to pick up the piece of meat and eat it with your hands. Even though the spectators can give you the side of eyes, taking out your razor to cut your meat will make your lunch much more enjoyable.

17. Cut a dog's leash in an emergency.

Lifts, dogs and leashes do not go together. Some incidents have been reported in which a dog runs out of the elevator at the last minute only to be lifted when the elevator goes up. Actually you can find some videos on YouTube that this happens. While no dogs have died as far as I know, many have been temporarily strangled. Having a knife to cut the strap quickly can save your life. Who knows when it would take to cut the leash of a naughty dog.

18. Taking firewood for the fire.

When you are lost in the desert, fire is an essential element. It is quite difficult to make a fire without firewood and hard enough to make wood without a knife.

19. Cleaning under your nails.

He counted on the help of our Facebook fans for knife uses. The main thing most of them said they had used their pocket knife for cleaning was under their nails. Yes, when you work on cars or in the field, dirt gets trapped under your nails. As long as you are careful, it is a good way to get your nails back to a presentable state. Just be sure to wash the sheet afterwards.

20. Used as Clip

Lost your wallet and can not find anything to keep your money? The clip of a pocket knife can work like a money clip. In fact, we have compiled a list of money clips from the badass knife, but you could always use any pocket knife like the Benchmade below.

21. Cutting loose threads.

For years, the loose threads drove me crazy. I could not stop pulling them as hard as I could. Sometimes, the threads break. Other times, they just got longer and unwrapped the clothes, leaving a tattered rag in his wake. A pocket knife makes quick work of threads without doing any damage to clothes.

22. The shaving.

In case of need, a sharp razor makes a proper razor. A razor and a knife are two different things, but work can be done if necessary.

23. Perfect other knives.

Speaking of sharp knives, the backbone of a knife can actually be used to perfect another knife. It is used in the same way that it would use to perfect steel.

24. The opening of a bottle.

At a party without bottle opener? Only the whip of his pocket knife. If you have a Swiss army knife, you can only use the dedicated bottle opener. If not, a blade, handle scales, or wave Emerson can be easily used to blow up the top of a beer bottle.

Here is a video with the general idea:

25. defend against aggressive or rabid animals.

The animals are unpredictable. All dogs, cougars, sharks, bears, and many other species have killed people. With a pocket knife, you can activate a certain death in a daring escape. In 2006, a 55-year-old named Tom stabbed a bear to death after he and his dog attacked. In 2011, a woman saved her daughter from two vicious pitbulls. In 2004, a rabid mountain lion attacked a group of people. In 2003, a man killed a vicious bear with a 3.5-inch knife.

26. Separation of LEGO.

It's not the job of a knife to pry things up (unless there's a dedicated pry tool), but for those little bricks, annoying LEGOs that might be stuck together, a thin sheet is enough to separate the blocks to get your fingers on That country.

27. Dismantling of the wire.

There are dedicated wire stripping tools, but a pocket knife will work in a hurry. Depending on the type of wire you're extracting, you could mark the cover with a knife or peel the edge. Some pocket knives (especially multi-tools) come with a wire stripper for comfort.

28. Cutting wire.

There are also dedicated pliers, but, again, a pocket knife will work just as well in most situations.
